Technology I have used in the past!!

Something I have worked on with my neice who has difficulty reading is Leapfrog !

  1. There are so many really great programs and websites out there, Blair. As I said on a few blog comments, these are all educational but the child never knows it because they are so much fun to play. And that is what we remember about school. The fun and the socialization. Not the math and the science, for the most part.
    Starfall is a great site for young children. You should introduce it to your niece. I love the Natural Library of Virtual Manipulatives. Check that one out as well.
    The Kurzweil 3000 is a helpful support service. I am thinking in terms of students as it being very helpful but as a teacher it would have benefits. Students would develop research skills and they would interact with other people. The amount of content and inforamation of the program would be very helpful as well.

  2. I use the library of virtual manipulatives regularly. My students love the spinners. Leap frog is great and we've used it many times at our school for our ESL students to develop phonemic awareness and phonics.
